The Fair brings more than 200,000 people to the area during fair week, Monday through Saturday. Monday is always the popular Demolition Derby with various performers the rest of the week at The Fair’s large grandstand. Brad Paisley has performed in years past along with Heart, Billy Currington, The Oak Ridge Boys, Terri Clark, Clay Walker, George Canyon, and the Bill Gaither Vocal Band as well as many other performers. There is also a small stage featuring a variety of free entertainment, and a community stage featuring local performers.

The Northwest Washington Fair is the only fair located in Whatcom County. The Fair is held annually in August. The Northwest Washington Fair is located in Lynden, Washington.

LYNDEN – Country singer Gary Allan and ’80s rock band Huey Lewis & the News will be performing at the Northwest Washington Fair this summer. Grandstand tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 13, and will be available online at, over the phone at 877-699-FAIR or at the fair office, 1775 Front St. in Lynden.

Who is Huey Lewis and Gary Allan

Huey Lewis sings lead and plays harmonica for his band, Huey Lewis and the News, in addition to writing or co-writing many of the band’s songs. The band is perhaps best known for their third album, Sports, and their contribution to the soundtrack of the 1985 feature film Back to the Future. Lewis previously played with the band Clover from 1972 to 1979.

Signed to Decca Records in 1996, Gary Allan made his debut on the United States country music scene with the release of his single “Her Man“, the lead-off to his gold-certified debut album Used Heart for Sale, which was released in 1996 on Decca Records. A second album, It Would Be You, followed in 1998 on Decca. Allan’s third album, Smoke Rings in the Dark, was his first album for MCA Nashville (to which he has been signed ever since) and the first platinum album of his career. Its successors, Alright Guy(2001) and See If I Care (2003), were all certified platinum as well, while 2005’s Tough All Over and 2007’s Greatest Hits were both certified gold. A seventh studio album, Living Hard, was released later in 2007.
